U.S. President Barack Obama wishes to visit Russia next year, U.S. Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul told the Vladivostok public on Monday.

In his words, Obama will visit Russia in the presidential capacity if he wins the election. He may pay the visit even if he is not victorious, he said.

McFaul said Obama wanted to attend the APEC Vladivostok summit, but could not do that because the summit coincided with the Democratic Party convention.
