American Film Festival in Moscow was initiated in 2006 in order to showcase new and classic American films, which otherwise would not be widely distributed in Russia. American Film Festival 2012 features 12 films by famous and critically acclaimed directors.
The program of 2012 is the most female program in whole festival history because some movies are the benefit performances of outstanding actresses of modern cinematograph such superstars Nicole Kidman in "The Paperboy" and Parker Posey from "Price Check" and some débutantes as Louisa Kraus in "King Kelly," Rachael Harris in "Natural Selection" and Linda Cardellini in "Return." The main goal of the festival is to present beginners at the cinema world - amazing first works of Adam Leon, Colin Trevorrow, Robbie Pickering and others.
