Monday. The long winter has ended in Russia and the time for Maslenitsa, or Shrovetide, has arrived. While the main part of this holiday will take place this weekend, you’ll be able to see how Muscovites ate pancakes this week right here.

Thursday. Sochi in the evening, after the end of the Olympics. Russia is awaiting the Paralympic Games which start on March 7.
Saturday. A lot of Russians believe that there are three capitals in Russia - Moscow, Ryazan (one of the 30 largests cities in Russia, 200 kilometers from Moscow), and Lukhovitsy (a city in the Moscow region). And not far from Lukhovitsy is the city of Kolomna (seen in the photograph), which has long been hailed for its local sweet, pastila.
