The 2013 Russian National Convention of Innovation

The Russian National Innovation Convention will be held on Dec. 5 at the Moscow State Technological University. The convention is expected to draw in 800 participants and showcase innovative, high-tech ideas of young inventors.

Several big names in science, recognized authors of innovative projects and leaders of successful startups, as well as the heads of the largest Russian science research centers and international corporations will headline the discussions and workshops of the convention. The Federal Agency for Youth Affairs and the Zvorykin Project are sponsoring this year’s event.

The business program of the convention includes panel discussions and sectional interactive platforms, in which participants will develop a road map for the leadership of Russian science for high-tech world markets.

Since 2008, sponsors have invested more than 1 billion rubles into the convention with the goal of advancing the development and commercialization of innovative projects. Developers have been handed prizes worth more than 16 million rubles and issued grants worth 35 million rubles. Many of the startups who have presented at past conventions have successfully entered the international market.

This year’s convention format will include in the presentation of scientific and technical knowledge. Participants will obtain experience in managing complex engineering startups through the interactive projects and engage in scientific project presentation competitions. In addition, there will be an exhibition of innovative projects, in which young inventors will present the prototypes and production models of high-tech products.
