Russia to allow foreign pilots

The Ministry of Transportation has proposed amendments to the country’s Aviation Code that would allow foreign pilots to work in Russia. Currently all pilots and flight attendants on Russian carriers must be citizens of Russia, pushing wages up and causing a deficit of approximately 200 pilots. The Ministry is proposing an annual quota for foreign pilots given that local ones would take on average 5-7 to train.
