JSC Rosoboronexport, the intermediary agency for Russia's defense-related exports, participated in the Asian Defense & Security 2015 Exhibition and Conference that took place in Bangkok between November 2 and 5.

The agency, which is part of Rostec, held talks with delegations from more than ten Asia-Pacific countries, discussing the prospects of developing military-technological cooperation.

Rosoboronexport representative Victor Brakunov said the talks and consultations in Bangkok have shown that there is a demand in the Asia-Pacific for Rosoboronexport's military-technological products and services, especially in Southeast Asian countries.

“We intend to continue developing this active dialogue, offering our partners relevant projects and attractive terms for cooperation, including in the industrial sector with opportunities of carrying out production directly on their territory,” he said.

At the exhibition, Asia-Pacific visitors were particularly drawn to Rosoboronexport's helicopter and armored tank technology, as well as to the anti-tank resources, anti-aircraft systems and firearms. Some countries also showed interest in products that could be used by their armies for UN peacekeeping operations.

The Russian stand at the exhibition was visited by official representatives of the Kingdom of Thailand, including Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army General Teeracha Nakwanich, Deputy Defense Minister General Roungrojana Chumrasromrun and Deputy Permanent Defense Secretary Admiral Anuthai Rattarangsi.

The Rosoboronexport delegation held talks with participants from other countries, including India, China, South Korea, Singapore and Bangladesh. Representatives from Turkey and Saudi Arabia also visited the Russian stand.

Due to the high interest in Russian companies at the exhibition, the Russian Defense Industry is contemplating participation in the next edition, which is in 2017.
