My life in Russia: Abhishek Rungta from Toronto, Canada

Abhishek Rungta is an Indian-born Canadian IT specialist from Toronto. He recently arrived in Moscow for a summer internship on his second visit to the Russian capital, and is already planning to come here again

Abhishek is a BA student of computer engineering at the University of Toronto, currently doing an internship in a Russian insurance company as a mobile app developer. It is his second visit to the Russian capital, and he is already planning to come here again. Since his last visit to Moscow 2 years ago, Abhishek has managed to teach himself Russian, which helps him to adapt to life in Moscow.

“A lot of people think Russia is a xenophobic country, but I’ve experienced the complete opposite. It was much easier for me to integrate into Russian society, by that I mean making friends and feeling at home, than it was in Canada or India”.
