Tough Viking is one of the largest and most brutal obstacle races in Europe, which attracted around 12,000 athletes in 2014. This year for the first time the race took place in Moscow.
The participants had to climb walls, dive into mud, navigate a chamber of bare electrical wires, and swim in icy water. Despite the formidable hazards, so many athletes and daredevils from all over Russia took part in the competition that registration for the event closed a month before the race.
David Klint, founder of the Tough Viking race: "Alongside 'professional' Vikings, this year inspired newbies dared to accept the challenge and take part in the race".
