29% of Russians (47 million) have never used the internet, according to a report published by the Public Opinion Foundation.
Relative to the size of the population the figure is 2.6 times more than in the U.K., where 11% of adults (6 million) have never used the internet or 1.4 times higher than in the U.S., where 20% of the population (roughly 60 million citizens) had no access to technology in 2013.
4 billion people worldwide have no access to the internet, compared to 3 billion web users, according to the Global Internet report 2015.
77% of Russians who do not use the internet are aged 60 and above. Among people aged 30 and younger this figure is only 1%.
