That is how America discovered Frisbee dog. For his efforts, Stein was arrested and held at a police station for a couple of hours before being bailed out by unknown businessman Irv Lander, who went on to organize a tournament, which today equates to the sport’s world championship.

The country has around 2000 couples that compete at a high level. 2006 saw the establishment of the Russian Frisbee Dog Association to unite all competitors and frame a common set of rules. That was also when the first competitions were held.
