Famed arms designer Mikhail Kalashnikov will be buried in Mytishchi, Moscow region, on December 27, the Udmurtia president and government's press service said on Tuesday.

"The family of M.T. Kalashnikov decided that the prominent arms designer would be buried at the federal memorial cemetery in Moscow on December 27, 2013," the report said.

The memorial service will be held at the St. Michael's Cathedral in Izhevsk from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on December 25 and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on December 26.

Kalashnikov, 94, died on December 23.

The federal memorial cemetery is situated in the Mytishchi district of the Moscow region, on the 4th kilometer of Ostashkovskoye Highway. The cemetery is owned by the Russian Defense Ministry.
