Over 800 Cossacks start ensuring order in Sochi while 2014 Olympics held
Cossack troops of the Kuban Cossack force have been sent to Sochi from the Krasnodar territory to ensure order, the Sochi administration press office told Interfax on Monday.
Cossack troops have been sent to Sochi in accordance with the patrol routes of the Sochi interior affairs department that was approved on December 4 by the first deputy head of the Russian Interior Ministry.
"A total of 820 Cossacks are ensuring order in Sochi," the press office said.
Cossacks are residing in six building in the Olympic Village, the press office said.
"The work regime of joint detachments is 24 hours - two 12-hour shifts," the press office said.
Cossacks are wearing uniform under the order of the Kuban Cossack force Ataman Nikolai Doluda, the press office said.
