The Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) has officially arrived on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, the agency press service said.

"The opening of official web pages on social networking sites will promote a dialogue between Roscosmos and citizens, a discussion of topical issues and broader public knowledge of the operations of the rocket and space industry," says a report posted on the Roscosmos official website.

Up until now the agency website has called the offices in China and Brazil and the new office in Kazakhstan "official missions" of Roscosmos.

A Roscosmos official told Interfax-AVN in June 2012 that the agency brand had been illegally used by the authors of several fake micro-blogs on Twitter.
