Former Menatep head Platon Lebedev, a former business partner of ex-Yukos head Mikhail Khodorkovsky, has come to Moscow after being freed from a penitentiary in the Arkhangelsk region late on Friday.

"Yes, he has reached Moscow," Lebedev's lawyer Vladimir Krasnov said.

Lebedev left the Velsk correctional facility on Friday under a Russian Supreme Court presidium ruling, the Federal Corrections Service said.

Lebedev was freed after the penitentiary administration had received the original of the Supreme Court's ruling in relation to him.

The Supreme Court's presidium had cut Lebedev's imprisonment term and ordered his release from the penitentiary on Thursday.
