Britain beat Russia 7:4 in the opening game of the Olympic curling tournament in Sochi. Defeat became clear in the 6th end as the Russians trailied 0:4. After the game, Russian national team coach Vasily Gudin pointed out that nerves were the main cause of the upset.

The next game for Russia's curlers is scheduled for February 10th, when the national team will face the Netherlands. The British team will play Sweden in the next round.
