Moscow views the ongoing events in Ukraine as an attempt to forcibly seize power.

"The events have come to the seizures of police headquarters, prosecutor's offices and military units in western regions of Ukraine. The unbridled ruffians are torturing policemen and military servicemen, dozens of whom have suffered injuries. In fact, the matter implies an attempt to forcibly seize power," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
