As of Monday April 21, the Ford Sollers plant in Vsevolozhsk has suspended production and laid off 700 employees as part of cost optimization.

The company’s plans to reduce production in Russia in light of the general deterioration of the economic situation became known in early April.

The company needed to work on cost optimization “due to serious changes in the economic situation in Russia, and in particular, the devaluation of the ruble, the slowdown in consumer activity in the new car market, as well as in response to a sharp drop in demand for C-segment cars”, reads the official announcement by Ford Sollers .
