Yelena Isinbayeva, who will become a mother in the middle of June, has decided to participate in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro

Pole vaulter Yelena Isinbayeva, the two-time Olympic champion and current world record holder, who will become a mother in the middle of June, has decided to return to athletics after the baby's birth and participate in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, according to her coach Yevgeny Trofimov.

"In about a month, Yelena will become a first-time mom. Right now she's preparing for that important moment. She's in good health, she's in excellent spirits,” said Trofimov, who added that Isinbayeva had been firm in her decision to return to athletics after the birth of her baby and participate in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

“I fully support her. We will determine the exact date of her return after she starts training again. We have excellent conditions in Volgograd for training any time of the year - we have a covered track, a purpose-built stadium, and all the necessary infrastructure at our disposal," Trofimov told sports website Ves Sport.
