American fast food chain Wendy’s has announced that it is leaving the Russian market. All eight restaurants are closing their doors.

Wendy’s withdrawal from the Russian market after three years of entirely successful operation can be attributed to a change in the leadership of local franchiser Wenrus, which includes 13 Russian steakhouses called Goodman, three Filimonova and Yankel fish houses, and five Kolbasoff beer restaurants.

The company previously announced plans to open 180-200 Wendy’s restaurants in Russia in the next ten years.
