Not blaming Russia for downing of MH17 – Malaysian transport minister

Liow Tiong Lai said Malaysia is not pointing fingers at Russia.

Neither Malaysia nor the Dutch Safety Board report apportioned blame for the shooting down of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17, Malaysian Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai said, according to the New Straits Times.

“I do not see any accusation, whatsoever on Russia, in this case,” Liow was quoted by the paper as saying after the Asian Political Parties' Special Conference on Silk Road closing ceremony in Beijing.

Last week, Russian Ambassador to Malaysia Valery Yermolov called on Malaysian leaders to stop pointing fingers at Russia. “I was a little bit surprised and disappointed when the leaders of Malaysia said that the aircraft was downed by a Russian-made BUK missile,” he said
