Russia, Iran to hold talks on resuming Yandex operations

The Russian search engine was blocked in Iran in March 2016.

Russia and Iran plan to hold talks on the resumption of Russian search engine Yandex’s Iranian operations, Sputnik News cited Iranian Minister of Communication Mahmoud Vaezi as saying on July 27.

Vaezi met his Russian counterpart Nikolai Nikiforov in Moscow.

“Four different committees will be set up after the meeting I had, and those which my deputies and delegation have had. They will organize everything and will cover many issues, including Yandex,” Vaezi told the news agency.

The Russian search engine was blocked in Iran in March 2016.
