NHL now in full swing
Today, RBTH will present its new issue of a unique guide to Russian players in the NHL. The new season started on October 1, and now it is in full swing.
The editor of this supplement, Leo Zaytsev, says that the editorial office wanted to achieve several objectives by issuing this supplement, including “adding fuel to the fire”, at a time when intrigue was growing.
“Why are we doing this? Hockey is action – with a happy ending for us, it is like a blockbuster movie with one’s favorite actors: at first they fight on the ice like MMA stars, and then they hug each other so gently, that even cat lovers start crying because of the over-the-top “tenderness”. All this is seasoned with a fair amount of intrigue,” he explained.
The “hottest moments” of hockey are the dynamics and passions during the playoffs, the eternal struggle between the favorites and underdogs.
This is no ballet – and while goaltenders are blocking shots on their nets, defensemen are pushing the faces of opponents into the boards, and someone then collects his broken teeth with a broken stick into a helmet, RBTH is publishing a new issue of a Russian Hockey Players Guide.
We should note that this is the first experience of RBTH in launching a paid supplement – all the previous ones were free. The supplement will be priced at $2.99. This is due to the fact that the guide has already developed an image, and the new supplement is even better than the last year’s.
“The main content of last year's issue was smaller in size and provided, if truth be told, only background information – biographies of hockey players, descriptions of teams,” says Mr. Zaytsev.
“However, this time we have real original stories – including insight from those people who personally know Russian NHL stars. In addition, every author provides a forecast for the decisive part of the season: the Olympic Games that will be held in Sochi in February, in which all NHL stars will take part, and then Stanley Cup Playoffs will begin.”
“The reader will appreciate the well-known names of Russian and North American experts, coaches and former players. We were given exclusive comments by genuine stars like Coach Slava Bykov, who led the Russian team to two victories in the World Championships, and Sergei Gimayev, an expert whose authority in the KHL surpasses that of Don Cherry and Pierre LeBrun combined. You can see two diametrically opposite opinions – the American and Russian – on the pages of our guide”.
The quality and scale of the new insert have been noted by the expert community.
Agent Igor Larionov, former legendary player of the Red Wings, the national team of Russia and the Soviet Union, commented on the issue: “Our guys, who are playing in the NHL, should have good coverage, we must not forget them. Fans should understand what is happening, how and what is being done here, how a player is formed and developed, and what can be expected. In addition, the players themselves will feel that they are being watched and that people back home are interested in what they are doing – this is very important.”
