China and Russia have launched a new freight train route connecting the cities of Harbin and Yekaterinburg, Xinhua news reported.

A train with 47 containers holding Chinese-made bicycle parts and light industrial products left Harbin on Feb. 27, according to the report.

The train will complete the 5,889-km-journey in 10 days.
