London's GRAD gallery of Russian art and design is launching a gift shop for the holiday season featuring modern takes on Soviet souvenirs.
"From authentic reproductions of Soviet-era scarves and porcelain ornaments, to limited edition prints and posters, you'll be sure to find presents for the whole family,” reads a press release from the shop.
The gallery offers a wide range of gift options — from Red Moscow perfume, which will give you “scent of a Soviet woman,” to the Nevalyashka Roly-Poly Doll, which never falls over, even after endless hours of play. You also can acquire the most brilliant example of Soviet innovation – the avoska bag, which, like Mary Poppin’s satchel or Hermoine Granger’s purse, can expand to take in anything you might wish to buy.
Vera Mukhina's glass, matchboxes, sweetened condensed milk, posters, Pavlovsky Posad shawls and many other colorful gifts are available for purchase alongside books about Russian art and culture.
