Moscow Metro turns into a catwalk for a world famous designer

Besides attending a fashion show, there are 15 more things you can do in the Moscow Metro.

Not for nothing is Terekhov considered one of the most celebrated Russian designers at home and abroad. On 25 October Alexandr Terekhov presented his Spring/Summer 2016/17 Collection in Moscow, with Dostoevskaya station as the catwalk.

The interior of the station matches its name: the station walls are decorated with panels depicting Russian writer Fyodor Dostoevsky and characters from his novels and stories.

It is not the first time that the Moscow Metro has been a part of fashion life. In 1997 Alexander McQueen’s collection for Givenchy was presented in the depot of Sokol station.

It was not fully closed, but the show area was partitioned off. However, subway passengers could see the models passing by.

Alexandr Terekhov’s collections usually focus on women, but there are some men’s outfits too. His latest women’s collection mostly consists of dresses, as well as tops, skirts, and jackets.

In 2009, Style.com recommended the work of young Muscovite Alexander Terekhov. Angelina Jolie, Misha Barton and Dania Minogue have each been spotted in his dresses.

The clothing was made of shimmering fabric, adorned with sparkling gemstones, seemingly inspired by cosmic themes and futuristic art.
