Lake Medvezhye (Bear Lake) at the Dusse-Alin mountain range
Legion MediaThis Far Eastern region is located on the shores of the Sea of Okhotsk and the Amur River. Khabarovsk was founded in 1858 by “Governor-General of Eastern Siberia” Nikolai Muravyov-Amursky and named in honor of the discoverer of the Far Eastern territories of the 17th century, Yerofei Khabarov. Another major city of the region is Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
In Khabarovsk Territory (Krai), there are hard-to-reach places where you can find nature untouched by man, in its pristine beauty. For example, the Dusse-Alin mountain range with the secret mountain Lake Medvezhye (Bear Lake). The area is home to many rare animals and birds and, in summer, you can see the lotus blossom!
Ancient man has also been here - and left his traces, a kind of prehistoric picture book. The earliest images on the rocks (petroglyphs) of Sikachi-Alan monument date back to the 12th-11th millennium BC.
