Krasnodar Krai

Warmth, sun and the sea are waiting for you at the resorts of the Krasnodar Krai ('Territory'). Although, you probably already know everything about its resorts: Sochi, Adler, Anapa, Tuapse, Gelendzhik – all on the Black Sea coast. As for the Sea of Azov – the magnificent sand spits of Yeysk District. In winter, people flock to the local ski resorts – Rosa Khutor, Krasnaya Polyana, Esto-Sadok and Gazprom. Many sports facilities  were built specifically for the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Aside from the resorts, Krasnodar Territory is a crossroads of many peoples, cultures and civilizations. In the center of Anapa, you can explore the ruins of the ancient city of Gorgippia. If you’re curious about the life of Kuban Cossacks, pay a visit to the Ataman ethnographic complex and to the town of Ust-Labinsk.
