Omsk Region

Omsk is a millionaire city on the Trans-Siberian Railway, founded in the 18th century. Before Omsk became a city, the location was a prison for exiles. Even Fedor Dostoevsky spent time in the local prison. It was there where he wrote a poignant story about hard labor - ‘Notes from the House of the Dead’.
