St. Petersburg

A city of federal significance, with the second largest population in Russia and the northern and cultural capital. Even a schoolboy remembers that it was founded by Peter I in 1703 at the mouth of the Neva River. Locals do not thank their founder for the climate, but definitely for the wonderful canals, palaces and White Nights.
