This October, the Bolshoi begins screenings of the year's most anticipated performances. Russia’s foremost theater, the Bolshoi, annually broadcasts its spectacular ballets in cinemas across the world, so even if you’re in places like the U.S. or Australia, you can watch taped, and sometimes live performances of the fantastic Russian ballet in cinemas near you.
This season opens with Le Corsaire ballet, which will broadcast live from Moscow on Oct. 22. This vivid and energetic performance reveals the life of the pirate Conrad who, upon falling in love with the beautiful Medora, (the ward of a slave merchant), kidnaps her.
