Imagine driving out of café parking lot: You are full to the brim with coffee and donuts, it feels like nothing can ruin your day. But then you take a turn and realize you’ve just crossed a yellow line (or a double white line if you’re in Russia), marking the center of a two-way road.
You hit the brakes but it’s too late. An eagle-eyed police officer stops you right there. Busted! Your perfect day dissolves right in front of you. Get ready for a fine!
But some people are not willing to lay down and die. Take this driver from Tolyatt, a Russian city 1,000 km southeast of Moscow, who was so incensed about getting caught by the police for breaking traffic rules that he took things into his own hands.
Armed with an axe, protective eyewear, and an empty container this savvy dude made just a slight amendment to the road marking: Cutting parts of the line out with an axe and thus opening the junction to all directions.
Why break the rules if you can change them instead? Be smart like Russian drivers!
