There is a stereotype that every Russian has a samovar - this isn't true. Of course, some people have one and sometimes really do still use it to drink tea - perhaps even complemented by these over-the-top glass holders. Although largely ornate and archaic, these remain traditional symbols of our tea drinking culture.
