Sergey Maximishin is one of the most important photographers from Russia. He depicts the real Russia, a country that might not look too pretty at first sight but is brimming with feeling, emotion and charm. The collection could be called “Russia without the skin.” The photos depict bars, strippers, people swimming in icy waters, drinking tea or walking in May through the snow. Sergey Maximishin turned 50 in 2014 and decided to sum up his life’s work, combining it into one exhibition. He chose 100 photographs to share them with the world.
