First Russian-Iranian business forum will take place in Tehran

On Dec. 13, 2016 a Russian-Iranian business forum will take place in the capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran. It will coincide with the 13th meeting of the permanent Russo-Iranian Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation. Roskongress is the organizer of this event. The Russian Ministries for Economic Development, Industry and Trade, and Energy are supporting this forum, as are the Russian Export Centre, the Iranian Embassy in Russia, and the Iranian Chamber of Commerce.

Anton Kobyakov, advisor to the Russian President and secretary of the Orgkomitet for organizing the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, believes that holding events such as this helps lay down the foundations of stronger official and commercial ties between two nations. “In this sense both the Russian-Iranian business forum and the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum – which will take place between the 1st and 3rd of June 2017 – are effective centers for business communications, and allow us to lay down networks which are important for the development of bilateral commercial relations and for attracting foreign investors in the Russian economy,” clarified Kobyakov.

During the forum its participants, who are representatives from Russian and Iranian official and business circles, will discuss such matters as the development of commercial and investor cooperation; the support of Russian and Iranian business at the government level; the strengthening of industrial and technical ties between Russia and Iran; and cooperation and interaction in terms of energy, agriculture, finance and the banking sector.
