The concert will take place in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Fifth Avenue, New York on Friday, July 1, at 2:00 PM.

This is the first time that an all-Russian program of organ music will be performed within the walls of St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

“We would like Musorgsky, Stravinsky, Prokofiev, Tariverdiev, Tchaikovsky to make a statement about the world, the world of today.  This program is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Chernobyl and Mikael Tariverdiev’s 85th anniversary.  Organ symphony “Chernobyl” is

the program centerpiece.” ~ Vera Tariverdieva, President of Mikael Tariverdiev Charity Foundation and Art Director of Mikael Tariverdiev International Organ Competition.

The program is produced in collaboration with Mikael Tariverdiev Charity Foundation and features an internationally acclaimed organist Lada Labzina who is a winner of many organ competitions, including Mikael Tariverdiev International Organ Competition.

The Rector of the Cathedral Monsignor Ritchie will open the concert.  Citations from the New York Assembly will be presented to Vera Tariverdieva to recognize her dedication and extraordinary work in continuing her late husband’s legacy and to Lada Labzina for her outstanding achievements and contribution to the world of organ music.
