Izvestia reports that Moscow-based company Parade of Stars has applied to register the trademark “iPhone Parfume,” which is expected to become the new standout among inexpensive perfumes.

The company has already launched similar fragrances in partnership with show business personalities and as tie-ins with a number of films and television series. Previously Parade of Stars launched “VKontakte,” a scent named for one of Russia’s most popular social networking sites.

Parade of Stars has been able to register some brands with Rospatent as the names remained free within International Classification of Goods and Services Category three, which applies to perfumes and cosmetics.

Whether Parade of Stars will be able to register “iPhone Parfume” is uncertain. Apple has declined to comment on the Russian company’s initiative, but has previously filed injunctions to prevent companies from using the lower case “i”.
