Indonesia disqualified from 2018 football World Cup

The Football Association of Indonesia was suspended by FIFA

Indonesia will not compete in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia following a decision taken at the extraordinary meeting of the FIFA Executive Committee on May 30, world football’s governing body said on June 3.

The Executive decided to suspend the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) until the PSSI would be able to comply with its obligations under arts. 13 and 17 of the FIFA Statutes,” FIFA said in a press note. “This decision resulted from the effective ‘take over’ of the activities of PSSI by the Indonesian authorities.”

FIFA added that Indonesia was taken off the qualifying matches in Asia’s Group F.
